Margarita Torres

Margarita first became a Certified Personal Trainer through the American Council on Exercise while studying Nutrition at the University of Florida in 2005. Since then, she completed her Master's Degree and became a Registered Dietitian in 2009, specializing in Clinical Nutrition Management. Having a lifelong love for athletics, especially swimming and weightlifting, she later decided to specialize in Strength and Conditioning through the National Strength & Conditioning Association. In 2011, Margarita found she could help her clients reduce pain and recover from injuries by adding massage therapy to the list of services she offered. Since her time at the Florida School of Massage, her passion for bodywork and movement has continued to grow. She has experience teaching group fitness classes (loves spinning and bootcamp!). She is a Certified Foundation Training instructor, which helps her clients find and keep better posture, and she is certified in Kinesiotaping through RockTape. Her specialties include reducing risk for workplace and athletic-related injuries and performance improvement for a variety of sports. She enjoys practicing yoga, rock climbing, surfing, and Pilates!


Fabian Ortiz

Fabian has been a Certied Personal Trainer through the Intercollegiate Sport Sciences Association since 2009. Following graduation from UCSB, he worked as a Physical Therapy Aide for two years, where he learned how to implement corrective exercise and how to work with individuals with injuries. Fabian then started working as a Certied Personal Trainer at both UCSB and Gold’s Gym. In addition, he teaches a Strength & Weight Training class for the Exercise and Sports Studies Department here at UCSB as well as the Faculty & Staff Fit4Life classes. Fabian specializes in corrective exercise, mobility work and improving his client’s lifestyle in order to live pain free. Any trainer can show you how to get bigger muscles, I can show you how all your muscles work together in order to look great, but more importantly, to feel great! Fabian’s enjoys playing and watching sports and movies. 


Ryan Roberts

Ryan is a Certied Personal Trainer through the National Academy of Sports Medicine. Ryan completed his bachelor’s degree in Biopsychology from UCSB. When it comes to training Ryan believes that a consistent, concerted effort will always lead to positive results. No matter how big or small the task at hand, staying committed is always a priority in his mind. He does not enjoy the complete monotony of doing the exact same thing every workout to achieve a goal. Ryan likes to employ his wealth of knowledge regarding fitness and integrates the newest training methods to create a fun, interactive, and sustainable regimen for his clients to follow. His interest in health and wellness sparked from a very young age and led Ryan to begin personal training. Ryan is highly involved with outdoor recreational activities, all genres of music and a wide range of sports. 


Drake Kelly

Drake is a Certified Personal Trainer through the American Council on Exercise. He specializes in mobility, athletic performance, building strength and muscle, balanced approach to health and wellness, postural alignment and nuerokinetics (mind-body muscle connection). Drake has a love for health and fitness. He has a passion for reading and learning about anything involving well-being, from diet to mobility to bio-hacking. Drake’s hobbies include sky diving, rock climbing, investing and reading. 
  
Alex Brown
Alex Brown
Certifications: CPT-PTAGLOBAL
Alex is a Certified Personal Trainer through PTA GLOBAL. She was born and raised here in Santa Barbara and grew up involved in sports. She continued her sports career throughout both high school and college. She started college as a nursing major, but soon realized that her real passion was working with athletes and personal training clients. She received her AA in Kinesiology & Athletic Training from Santa Barbara City College. She then received her Personal Training Certification and shortly after competed in her first fitness competition! Alex specializes in strength based functional and corrective exercises. 



Kieren Patel

Kieren is a UCSB alumnus with a genuine passion for helping people. During his time as a student here he found the Rec Cen to be a home away from home for him and discovered exercise as a grounding and centering force in his life. While pursuing his degree, he participated in the UCSB Personal Training Certification program and interned here as a trainer; upon completion of his degree and certification he attained his certification from the National Academy of Sports Medicine and began his career as a trainer. Having worked with ROTC cadets, gymnasts, dancers, runners, soccer players, and individuals from all sorts of athletic and nonathletic backgrounds he is confident in his ability to improve the lives and fitness levels of any eligible clients. His main goal is to help you find the discipline and solace that he discovered through his fitness education, and while he specializes in postural correction he is excited to work with any fitness goals you have and to help you achieve them. In addition, Kieren is a Schwinn Indoor Cycling Instructor. Don’t be mislead by Kieren’s zany cheerfulness: he is also an avid metalhead. 


Ryan Gage

As a dancer growing up, Ryan developed a love of movement and, eventually, strength training, HIIT workouts, and many other styles of exercise. Her experience as a trainer and group fitness instructor is influenced by her time working in a physical therapy office; so, her workouts always emphasize proper form and posture, while encouraging you to work up a sweat. Ryan's main goal as a trainer is not just that her clients and students reach their health and fitness goals, but that they have fun, learn to love exercise, and learn to accept and love themselves.
