There are no pressures, exams, (except for emergency certification classes) or grades-just relax and enjoy! Classes meet once or twice weekly throughout the day and evening. Classes are open to UCSB students, faculty, staff, alumni, affiliates and community members (age restrictions do apply).

Class Fees

Class fees cover instructors' salaries, publicity, use of equipment and some class supplies. You may need to purchase additional supplies for individual projects. Students may attend the first class to spectate at no cost. In order to participate, you must pay for class in full or pay a $5 drop in fee to the night greeter. Drop in fee option is only available at the first class session and will not be applied to the class fee should you decide to continue attending. Students may not pay on a class-by-class basis. Payment are accepted by cash, check or Visa/MasterCard; No BARC Billing.

Class Locations

Class Locations consist of a wide variety of locations around campus. Be sure to find out exactly where your class is being held before the first class meeting. See map in the downloads section.
Parking passes are available in the automated machines located in the lots. Click here to see Parking Rates.  Click here to find directions to our facilities.

Online registration is now available here. You may also register in person at the Cashier's Office in the Recreation Center or by mail using the coupon available in the downloads section. Online or mail-in registration not accepted for Wine Tasting or SCUBA Diving classes. Mail-in registration not recommended for Yoga classes as they tend to sell out quickly and priority is given on a first come first served basis.
The Recreation Cashier's Office is located in room 1102 of the Recreation Center on the corner of Mesa and Ocean roads. Cashier's Office hours are: Monday- Friday 8:30am-5:30pm.

Holidays have been taken into consideration and most class dates have been extended to provide make-up sessions.

There are no refunds except those granted at the discretion of the administrative supervisor. Refunds will only be granted should medical or other extenuating circumstances dictate. Medical issues require a doctor’s note. Refunds will only be granted during the first two weeks of each quarter and will not be issued for schedule conflicts. Refunds, if given, take up to four weeks to process once they are sent to accounting.

Transfers to another class or section time may be made up until one week after the first class meeting.
