Belay Clinics

Ever wanted to know how to belay a climber? We have your answer! The 3-hour belay clinic gives you basic information and practice with belaying, providing you with the knowledge to pass the Adventure Climbing Center’s top rope belay test. In this clinic you will learn climbing knots, harness use, hardware use, belaying technique, climbing communication, how to catch a fall, and how to lower a climber. The class will meet in UCSB’s indoor Adventure Climbing Center, so come ready to climb.

The fee includes instruction, climbing equipment, climbing shoes, and a cord of rope to practice climbing knots. The maximum enrollment is six and no experience is necessary, so sign up quickly!

Belay Clinics run most weeks at the following times:
Wednesdays 7pm-10pm
Friday 4pm-7pm
